Interim employment is the fastest growing trend in executive employment. A growing number of experienced nonprofit executives prefer the flexibility and freedom of interim work. For some, interim work is a smart way to supplement retirement income and for some it is a part of their independent consulting practice. For others, it is a new way to manage their careers in a rapidly changing sector.

Information About Being an Interim Transition Associate
  • TMS negotiates the Associate's salary based on the needs of the client organization and the qualifications of the Associate.

  • Associates are independent contractors, not employees of TMS.

  • Prior to each engagement, a letter of agreement between TMS and the Associate will outline the duties and responsibilities, compensation, period of the agreement and other particulars regarding the assignment.

  • Associates are not candidates for the permanent executive position in the organization and should not accept an interim position in the hopes that it will become permanent.

Advantages of Working as a TMS Associate
  • Flexibility: TMS Associates enjoy the flexibility of selecting assignments that are of interest and convenience to them. Our Associates may be retired professionals or in transition.

  • Professional challenges: The variety of challenges keeps skills sharp and your business contacts fresh. Our Associates are top professionals who enjoy tackling problems and making a difference.

  • No politics or personal agendas: TMS Associates are able to work above the fray of office politics that often include past conflicts and hidden agendas. Our only agenda is to provide professional, efficient service to the organization.

  • Competitive compensation: TMS Associates receive competitive compensation for their skills. Salary is based on several factors including the size of the organization as well as objectives and duration of the assignment.
